FPC’s intergenerational mission projects (formerly 2NDSAT) are now

FISH: FPC Intergenerational Service in Hope!

We are excited to offer new partnerships as well as continue some old favorites as we expand our approach to new days and times. Projects in 2024 will include United4Hope-Poplar Grove partnership, GraceWorks Fuel Bags, a SOSA sweet potato drop, Downtown Presbyterian breakfast, UKirk dinner, and more. Some projects will be on stand-alone days, and others will be in combination with church events (like our February potluck). Keep an eye out in FPC communications for the FISH notification!

Fish appear throughout scripture as a way of showing care to neighbors and sharing God’s abundant love. Just as Jesus miraculously fed the 5000 with just a few loaves and fishes, so does he continue to care for his people today in surprising ways. We are called to be partners in this ministry, that all may be fed physically and spiritually. God invites us to “Come and follow!”

We are excited to announce FPC’s newest Intergenerational Mission Experience: our local school partnership through United4Hope! United4Hope has worked for over a decade in Metro Nashville schools, and this fall they’ve expanded to Franklin Special (FSSD). We are partnering with Poplar Grove elementary and middle school to offer teacher appreciation support throughout the school year! Our first service opportunity is on December 3 during our Advent Workshop (9:00 AM). We are excited to begin this partnership as all ages of FPC continue to serve together. If you are interested in learning more or getting involved in planning, reach out to FPC’s United4Hope Coordinator, Cindy Blackburn (615-260-8680).
