Sunday Night Summit Will return on 9/8!

Our primary Youth Fellowship time is called Sunday Night Summit (SNS). Throughout each month during the school year, we want one Sunday night to be one of these four categories: Social, Service, Study, or Sabbath.

More details about this year's Study, "May We", coming soon.

Interested in hanging out with the FPC Youth Group?

During the school year, we have three regular programs: Sunday morning Wonder Hour, Sunday afternoon SNS, and Wednesday Night Live activities.

SUmmer 2024

Our summer at FPC is busy, and the cornerstone of this season is our Youth Trips! We are sending groups of Adult Participants and Youth to Montreat Youth Conference, Appalachia Service Project, and Memphis Youth Mission. Additionally, we will offer weekly Meetups at local restaurants during the summer, and other activities like Lake Day and a Sounds game!

Stay in the loop for what's coming up next by getting added to our weekly Youth Newsletter and our MS and HS Remind text groups!

Core Values

Christ-centered:

We live our lives guided by Christ.

Accepting:

We are a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive community of faith.

Relationships:

We foster an atmosphere that promotes love, patience and kindness among the church family and the world at large.

Engaging:

Through the use of curriculum, mission, and activities we challenge youth to actively explore their faith.

Sunday School

From Sept. to May at 9 AM the youth gather in room 117/118 with a Hospitality Bar (hot chocolate, coffee, sweets, etc.) for fellowship, welcome and announcements from our Director of Youth Ministries, Sam Belcher.

At 9:10 they disperse into their classrooms:

Middle School (6th/7th/8th) Rooms 119/120, Feasting on the Word and Big God, Big Questions

This year, our middle schoolers will use FOTW for most of their Sunday School gatherings, but once a month will have a revised lesson from BGBQ to help refresh us on the foundations and principles of our faith.

High School (9th/10th/11th/12th) Room 117/118, Feasting on the Word Curriculum

The Feasting curriculum follows the lectionary and provides students a rich, discussion-based class in which they reflect upon the text through its different contexts and applications.

During the summer months the middle and high school youth meet together for one class.

CURRICULUM

CONFIRMATION SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

Preteens at First Presbyterian Church can enroll in confirmation when they reach the 6th grade.  The program is open to older students as well.  The course, which begins in August, starts with an understanding of scripture and includes information about the Reformed tradition, the Presbyterian Church (USA) and First Presbyterian Church of Franklin.  In addition to Confirmands attending monthly Sunday gatherings, each is assigned a Covenant Partner who walks beside them in their journey.  Confirmands and Covenant Partners read the Gospel of Luke and meet at least monthly to discuss their reading and explore other questions of the faith.

Sunday Night Summit

Sunday Night Summit (SNS) begins at 5:30pm in the Youth Wing where our Youth and Adult Participants share a meal together.  After dinner we will have a large group gathering before dispersing into age specific groups. SNS ends at 7pm.

Sometimes the SNS activity is offsite, so please keep an eye on our newsletter and Remind communications!

The cost per meal is $5 for youth participants. SNS meets Sept. through May.

WNL

Wednesday Night Live (WNL), is our midweek program for our whole church community. The meal begins at 6:00 pm. You are invited to join the table for fellowship and stay for programs.

For the fall 2024 semester, our WNL programming will see us engaging in various activities focused on service and community.

Some weeks we'll play and game and discuss life, others we'll engage in a worship experience, and still others we'll help out around the church through things like RITI and college care packages.

No matter what we're doing, it will be a blessing to be together and to check in during the middle of our week!

Trips, Retreats and More!

Throughout the year our youth have a number of opportunities to go away, build relationships, make memories, serve communities and see God in new ways. As these events approach more information will be given about each of these opportunities in the Youth News. Some of these exciting opportunities include:

Fall and Spring Retreats at NaCoMe

Mission/Service-Learning Trips each summer

Youth Conferences (Montreat/Triennium)
